Deleted Account Help

Hi
I have deleted one of my wordpress accounts and using the same email on another host. Everytime I try to add a comment on a wordpress blog and enter my new details for blogger it directs me to a wordpress login and states the following.
Please log in to post your comment.
(email visible only to moderators and staff) belongs to an account you are not currently logged into.
WordPress.com or Gravatar.com credentials work.
How do I stop this? Surprised this is happening since I have deleted my account. I checked to see if it had been deleted and it has. Any ideas?

You deleted the blog, the account lives on forever. Create a bogus email account, switch the WP account to the new email account, and you’ll never have to worry about it again.

I want to delete my account. Not the blogs, the whole account. They say contact support, BUT if your not ‘PRO’ you cannot contact support direct by email…so is this a never ending circle? I am sure there are laws to press this issue about not being able to delete an account that has your information, why do they/wordpress make it so hard????

You cannot delete an account, only the contents of the blog or the blog itself. You can change all of the account information so it has nothing to do with the ‘real you’, then transfer the account to a bogus email account. Then, if you really want to burn it all down, create an impossible to remember password.

I know you can’t delete an account, I read all the forums and stuff. BUT WHY NOT? And I still can’t contact support, because I do not have a ‘pro’ account. ~ And my other blogs will not delete from the account because they were on a wordpress platform but at my own domain, so when I shut down the domains you can not go to the dashboard and use tools and delete the listings for those blogs…so aggravating.

Am still having the same problem. And yes why cannot delete an account ? Am not understanding the logic behind this. Causing me no end of grief everytime I want to leave a comment on a wordpress account.
Tried agsin to leave a comment got the same message. Tried to log into the same account, got error message saying it does not exist!!!

Since we don’t want other people to have your username in the future, we don’t delete usernames (they are kept so they cannot be recycled). For more information, please see

I do have a few suggestions for you if you really want to scrub the account:
1) You can go to My Account->Edit Profile and remove all data except the account name and an email address. Create a throwaway email address and change the account email to that throwaway address. This only leaves the username behind.
2) To ensure the account is locked up tightly, visit this site, generate a password of 15-20 characters, and change the account password to it:

Allocated the account to a different email address, yet when I try to comment on a wordpress blog with my main email address it says this email belongs to a wordpress account you are not logged into despite me changing the email address. I will have another try and double check this has changed.

Just gone into the account and I had successfully changed to one of my less used email addresses. Yet it is still causing me issues. I am actually using the account now.

Just gone back and tried to add comment and seems to have worked now despite me not doing anything. Perhaps there is a long delay.
