Deleted and meant to make site names available for re-use
-
I think I used the wrong setting when I deleted two of my barely-used blogs. I wanted to get rid of the content and make the names available again for other users as I know how annoying it is when you can’t adopt a name that no-one else is even using.
Is there anyone I can email to change this now?

There is no recycling of deleted blog URLS here at wordpress.com. Once a blog is deleted – after 3 warnings are given and a vertifcation link sent by email is clicked the URL is gone and cannot be reused.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/We can register another blog URL > http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
We can also purchase a domain name via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com URL is. See > http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/

There was an option in the deletion menu to make the URL available to other users but I didn’t realise until afterwards that this would only happen if I selected that one. Oh well :)
