Deleted blog address… want it back

    Here is the story…

    I was giving wordpress.com a go for a community blog I wanted to create for our private association. Well, I created the blog title under my own account and played around a little and then decided I would delete the name and have it available to claim with a new account created specifically for the association. Oops!

    So, now name isn’t available to either of us…. Is there anyway staff can assist me in getting this name back. It would simplify everything for our community.

    mjpida.wordpress.com was the blog

    Im afraid it’s bad news.

    There is no way to retrieve a deleted blog. There are at least three warnings issued to the person before they actually delete their site. Each warning mentions the blog will be deleted forever. Plus there’s an email sent out too, and the blog can only be deleted after that link in that email is clicked on.

    You might want to speak to Staff directly if you’re not convinced, but believe me, there are umpteen people before you who deleted a blog thinking they were “freeing the name” only to find out no one including themselves could have it back..
