deleted blog cant make new one with same name

i deleted my blog because i did something and didnt know how to fix it ((email visible only to moderators and staff)) with the intention of just remaking it. but now if i want to use this name for my blog it says it allready exists, even though its deleted.

too late you can’t get back that username ever. you should’ve read the faq or search the forum regarding this before deleting! i had the same dilemma before, but well, i have learned to love my current username

*shrug* Not a problem. I host a lot of soccer moms with my hosting company. They get on to me about me saying it. Just reaction.
If you feel that you deleted it by mistake, you can try pleading your case with Automattic directly. They might be able to restore it but it’s an outside chance. (They usually don’t)

Even I did the same thing with my blog. Initially, I found wordpress to be complicated and just deleted the blog, even though WP asked me through the email. However, after getting a hang of things, I want that name back. But when I register, it says, ther;s already a blog by this name.
Please, please can I have the name back. Even paid names are available after the term expires. If there is any term period with WP also, please let me know. Because good names should not be left unused. Please, please. -

I’m glad I found this thread. I was just about to click the link in the email…
My problem is I setup more than one blog without realizing one username could be used for all of them. I found that out when I was still logged in as the last username I created and the new blog ended up using that username.
I would like to consolidate all the blogs under one account. I was about to delete them and start over, but now that I know I’ll lose the usernames, I’m not going to do that.
Is there any way to get them all under one login?

Yes, just add the username that you want to use as an Admin to all of your blogs. You can do this via Dashboard -> Users -> Authors & Users -> Add User From Community and assign them a level of Administrator.

Here’s a related question….
I created a blog under a username… and have decided it makes much better sense to have that blog under another username. Basically… so I won’t have to manage multiple logins for wordpress. Is it possible to transfer a blog from one username to another????

Then don’t. Visit the main WP.com page and click on the “create a new blog” link while logged in. Both blogs will be assigned to your account.
