Deleted blog is still active

  I followed the steps to delete my blog (Tools > delete blog etc). This allowed the blog to be deleted from my admin/ dashboard, but the URL is still active and searchable through Google:
  http://aleagueofhisown.wordpress.com/

  How do i disable the blog? Is there a delay?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Sorry not sure what you might have done wrong – there is no delay after you accept the third “yes I really want to delete it forever” – log back into the blog – the link is below

  Thanks-
  When I log in again, my account details are visible, but all evidence of the blog have successfully been removed- ie nothing appears under ‘my blogs’. The URL is still live however..

  Not sure what to say other than maybe you hid something – I have flagged this for the staff to review your account –

  In the mean time you can try and set the blog to “Private” to keep people out – but if yo can’t see the blog in the dashboard??

  Look in Dashboard >> My Blogs >> and see if you have any “Hidden” blogs at the top of the page – a click on link

  Dashboard >> Settings >> Reading >> Only visible to those I choose. Keep in mind that deleting is forever and if you set the blog to private you can use the name in the future

  Unfortunately there are no hidden blogs or option to access ‘reading’. Thanks for your help! Looking forward to hearing from staff

  The authors have deleted this site.

  OK – you deleted the blog with your user name – but it looks like there is a blog with a almost the same name – did you have anything to do with the still live blog?

  If so – do you have another user name?

  Note the good old one letter off trick:

  aleaugue – deleted
  aleague – live

  Yes that was made by me too! This was a few years ago so I’m now trying to remember what the other email address used to create it might have been! I will investigate.
