Deleted blog name by mistake
-
I recently purchased a new domain name and mistakenly clicked the option to create a new blog with the same name, thinking it would rename my existing blog (the one that’s attached to the domain) rather than creating a brand new one. I changed the name of the new blog thinking it would free up the name that matches my domain, but now it seems to be unavailable. I emailed WordPress about the situation with the hopes that someone would be able to see that it was a misunderstanding and correct the issue for me, but instead I received an automated email that only premium members get customer service. Does anyone have experience with this issue and is this something I can fix? (Note, the domain name I am using is “omgitsstephenlol” and my blog name is “omgstephenlol”. I want the blog to also be “omgitsstephenlol” so they match)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there!
If you have a custom domain and a paid plan that allows you to set it as your primary domain, the free *.wordpress.com URL becomes irrelevant as it is only visible on the backend of your site and only by you.
Since you’ve recently purchased a domain, I recommend adding a paid plan, which will enable you to use the domain as the URL visitors see when they visit your blog.
Additionally, please be aware that when you changed your free site address, the original one was permanently deleted and cannot be reused as a WordPress.com address.
However, if the deletion occurred within our 30-day recovery window, we can help you recover it. Just let us know, and we will restore it to your account.
I hope this explanation clarifies things for you! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
