Deleted “Bogrolls” Heading

  • Unknown's avatar

I have recently signed up for a wordpress blog site. When trying to delete the “wordpress.com” and “wordpress.org” entries under the “blogrolls” heading, I checked the boxes next to each, and clicked the delete button. The heading “blogrolls” and entries were deleted from my front page. Now I can’t find a “blogrolls” to put put back on front page. Where can I find the heading again and how can I put it back on the front page.

    Thanks for your help.

    Scott

You will need to create links to have the blogroll appear again. For this go to “write” ->”link”

Yes. I can help you out. You have to go to “Manage” option in the dashboard. Then, go to links. There you can add/remove links.

Blogrolls is just an automated heading that WordPress gives you for the links. You can, however, modify that in the mentioned options.

My appreciation to deltafoxtrot and rollsmaniac for your assistance. Your suggestions worked.

    Rollsmaniac:
Do you mean that the label “Blogroll” can be changed to something else, like “Links”??? I don’t see a way to do it. Most of my links are to web sites so Blogroll seems confusing.

You can change the header of individual entries and group them together; for instance, instead of ticking the Blogroll category, make a new category for, say Sports and tick that box for all your sports sites. They show up under the heading Sports then. I’m not sure if you can get rid of “Blogroll” altogether, but maybe.

The header on the links widget is the category that you assign the links to. So if nothing is assigned to the blogroll category, it won’t appear. At least that is what I have experienced on my blog. So yeah, I think you can get rid of Blogroll completely. (I used to not have it on my blog at all. I used to assign all of my blog links to “Blogs I read.” Then I decided to expand my blogroll and changed the category back to blogroll.)
