Deleted categories showing on New Posts page in the Categories options

  I have a private blog ( http://theschoolkfi.wordpress.com/). This problem is about the “categories” options provided in the “Add New” Posts page. I find that categories I have deleted show up in this section when I’m uploading new posts. Can anyone help me get rid of this? Thanks in advance.

  I solved it! I converted the categories (which kept showing up on the New Post page) into tags and then deleted them. Now they’re gone from my Categories options when I upload a new post.
