Deleted document files still accessible via link URL – need blocking.

  Hi – trying to remove access to several document files that I have deleted from my blog account – but are still accessible via cached links – can you help? Thanks.

  I assume then that your site was not marked Private previously because only Public sites are crawled and indexed by search engines.

  Are these documents being pulled up at their direct site link or in a search engine cache?

  If you are pulling them up from your site address, try deleting your browser cache and cookies or accessing your site from a private/incognito browser window.

  If you’ve permanently deleted those files from your site and they appear in a search engine cache, it can take search engines 3-6 months to recrawl and index your site. More about removal from search engines in this support guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/search-engines/
