Hi there!
There are two ways you can use the domain again:
- Wait for about a week for the domain to be released into the market. Since you canceled the domain within the refund period, the domain will be removed and released from our side in about a week. However, note that when it’s available again, anyone can register it. So there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to get it again with another registrar.
- Pay just for the domain. The .com domain registration costs $19/year (the price is in USD). If you’d like, we can email you the payment link. Once you’ve paid, we can restore the domain to your WordPress.com account so that you can use custom nameservers to point the domain to your external host.
We suggest this method to make sure you don’t lose the domain. You will be able to transfer the domain registration to another registrar after 60 days, but you’ll also be able to use the domain with your other host in the meantime. So you won’t have to wait.
Note: If you want to use the domain with your WordPress.com site again, we recommend upgrading to a yearly WordPress.com plan. That way, we can restore the domain at no extra cost since the domain is included with a yearly plan for the first year.
