Deleted Domain

  Hi, I registered a domain name (unpaid), deleted it on accident, and now I really need it back, but wordpress has essentially disabled it. Could it be reactivated please?

  Hi there,

  If you deleted the address within the past 30 days it should still be possible for us to restore it. Can you please confirm the address that you wish to reactivate?

  I don’t believe it was in the last 30 days – I’d didn’t realize I would need it. But the domain name is Rochellecorynsmith.wordpress.com.

  Hi there,

  Unfortunately, this site cannot be restored as it has been deleted two months ago.

  Fortunately, there is an infinite supply of unused .wordpress.com addresses, so you can register a new one.

  I’m sorry, I don’t understand why this could be. The domain is no longer an active web address, the idea that it is just “gone” doesn’t make any sense from a technical perspective. Why is this a policy? Could you explain it please?

  @rochellecorynsmith, when you deleted the site you acknowledged you could not get the name back. We do restore names for 30 days if it was a mistake, but not after that. We have to take deletions seriously.
