Deleted Home Page – How to Restore?
-
Hi. Just trying WordPress out for the first time and have deleted the Home page. Whenever I try to navigate back to the home page it creates an 404 error. Does anyone know how I can restore the home page or do I need to delete the entire content and start again (there’s very little on there)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You need to create a blog Post rather than a static Page and it will show up there. All your Posts will go there sequentially.

Thanks Raincoaster. How do I go about removing the static page status to a blog post? I recall that I made it a static page in the “Customise Theme” tool. However, when I try to use this option, it freezes with “loading design tools” on the right hand side of the page – I assume this is because I’ ve deleted the homepage?

You haven’t deleted the homepage. The homepage is just the blog front: you can’t delete that!
If you want your latest posts on the homepage, you go to Settings > Reading and set your front to display the latest posts. In that case you’ll get a 404 till you publish a post.
If you want a static page as your front, you create that page in Pages > Add New, then you go to Settings > Reading and set your front to disply that page. -
