Deleted images

  Oooops, I deleted older images from my media library to create more space. it now seems that those deleted images also then automatically deleted from the original blog posts they were displayed on. Sorry, if this is really obvious. I thought I was cleaning up the “filing system” , so to speak, and didn’t realise it would also affect the posts. Is there anything I can do to reinstate those images to the posts they be log with?

  Hi there. When you insert an image into a post you actually only insert a link to where the image is hosted in your media library. If you delete the image from the library, the link in the post now points to nothing. All images used online has to be hosted somewhere. In the case of WordPress.com that somewhere is your media library.

  The only way to get those images back is to re-upload and re-insert them into the posts. No automatic “undo” option in this case, I’m afraid.
