Deleted my site, but the name is still unavailable

Hi! I started a site but I messed things up, deleted it and wanted to start over. However, it now says the domain name is taken. It’s not, but I used it before and deleted it. Can you explain how I can again use that name? Thanks!

Unfortunately, once deactivated/deleted, it cannot be recovered. There are warning messages throughout the process of deactivation/deletion. In some cases, if it has been two years or more and no conflicts, then it is possible.

Hi! Thanks for your quick reply. I deleted it on my phone (since the customising part was completely blocked on my desktop app) and I don’t remember the warning about the url not being available anymore. Too bad WordPress can’t register that it was me who made it before and that it’s me trying to use it again, but I understand why it’s important to protect a url.
I’ll try another host, thanks anyway! -
You’re most welcome. I understand what you’re saying. It’s set up that way for your protection. That way, someone can’t gain access of your site and pretend to be you.
