Deleted my site now can't use site address
-
I am new to WordPress and I was tinkering with editing a blog site. I didn’t like my work so I deleted the site. In doing so, I also locked up the site address I want to use. Now I can’t re-use the original site address. Is there a time period by which that previously used site address will be released and available for re-use?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi!
Deleting a WordPress.com site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to re-use its WordPress.com address (such as yourgroovysite.wordpress.com) as mentioned in this page.
As mentioned on this post though, WordPress.com site addresses deleted, 2 years or more ago, may become available if they present no username or other technical conflicts. Your best shot would be trying registering on this page after 2 years.
If it works, you are good to go. Else, there’s nothing much that can be done.
Does it clarify things for you? Feel free to get back if you have questions.

That answers my question, although I’m disappointed with the answer. 2 years? I wish there was a warning to say “this site address can not be reused” when deleting.
Thanks for the response.

I am sure there were multiple notices while deleting. Sorry that you feel so. You can always try using a new site address.
Happy to help.
