Deleted old blog – still showing up in google search

Hi there,
I had a blog in university with wordpress.com (boyleskendra.wordpress.com). Today I deleted the blog because I no longer use it and am trying to decrease my online presence/footprint. Will it take a couple days for the blog to be taken down by wordpress, or should I be worried that I can no longer access it through my account but it’s still online? -
i think the deleted blog will be gone from wordpress, but for google it may take upto 2 or 3 weeks for updation of submitted links and search results that already exists. You may submit a google link removal here : google removal , webmaster

@kendraboyles https://boyleskendra.wordpress.com/ doesn’t appear to have been deleted. If it had the address would show a WordPress.com placeholder message that the site had been deleted.

Hey guys, thanks for replying. I followed the steps to delete the blog and now no longer have access to it in my account, but it appears to still be active. I’m not sure if this is a delay from wordpress or google, but I assumed that it would be gone by now.
I’m not sure there’s any way to contact wordpress directly and request it be taken down. I have tried the google removal, but because it’s a blog I don’t think google can do anything without approval from the host.

The site will fade away from Google quite quickly once it has been deleted by WordPress.com. Over the last few months there have been a few cases where there has been some kind of glitch which resulted in the situation you now find yourself in. I have added modlook to the tag box to the right and in due course staff should visit this thread to assist you.

kendraboyles- I see that you deleted http://kendraboyles.wordpress.com/ from the user account you are signed in with now. That is why you see the “no sites” message when clicking My Sites.
It is a different user account that owns boyleskendra.wordpress.com, to delete this site you’ll need to sign in to that account first. Then proceed with the site deletion instructions.

lizkarkoski- I can see how I could’ve easily made that mistake. I remember now that I had two wordpress sites related to different courses. Looks like I’ve successfully deleted it this time. THANK YOU! Case closed.
