  I thought my post was saving every few minutes as always, I must have hit something and I can’t even find it in my drafts. Super sad.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  WordPress autosaves every few minutes, but if something happens in those in between minutes, it is gone. It also will not save fully until you have saved the draft first. I’ve had that problem.

  If it is in the trash, deleted by mistake, see http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/ for help on this.

  You are not alone. It takes a split second mistake of hitting the backspace button or the back arrow on the browser to leave the page when you are writing in WordPress. That’s why many pros work in text editors and copy and paste the information over, just for those just in case moments that happen rarely.

  Hopefully it will turn up. Do a search for some words in the post if you can’t find it in the trash.

  Thank you. I couldn’t find it. I rewrote something similar. It wasn’t the same of course as those original thoughts, but I learned a lesson. I have kept meaning to write in a text document then copy and paste, but then I don’t do it. I will from now on. Always. Thank you for responding.

  If the post was created on the dashboard of your own blog at Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New then you ought to be able to recover a lost post or page from revisions if needs be.

  But if the post was created here http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ there is no means of recovery as the auto-save is not functioning there.

  Always create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog at
  Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New
  The auto-save works there and the post will be Standard post format unless you change it.

  Do not create posts here > http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ where the auto-save is not working and where you are creating an Aside post format.

  Use an offline blog editor so you have backups on your own computer http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/
