Deleted post still appearing online

I have attempted to delete this post, and it remains online: https://sajjeling.com/2015/05/07/digging-deeper/
It remains online, and I have cleared my cache and tried different browsers, it still comes up.
The post does not appear in the back end, so I am unsure what to do next.
Thanks in advance.

Hi there!
Indeed the https://sajjeling.com/2015/05/07/digging-deeper/ post still seems to appear. Some options you can try are:
1. Reindexing and Caching Issues
- Sometimes, the old version of the post may be cached directly on your site
- Clear your site cache: If you’re using a caching plugin (e.g., W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache), clear the cache from the plugin settings.
- Clear your CDN cache: If you’re using a Content Delivery Network (CDN) like Cloudflare, purge the cache from your CDN dashboard.
- Clear your browser cache: Even though you mentioned you did this, ensure all cached data is cleared.
2. Database Cleanup
- There might be remnants in your database causing the post to appear. You can use a plugin like WP-Optimize to clean up your database.
- Alternatively, you can access your database directly through phpMyAdmin (if you are comfortable doing so) and ensure there are no remnants of the post in the
wp_poststable.
3. Check for Plugins Conflicts
- Sometimes, plugins can interfere with post management. You can run a conflict check following these steps.
4. Check Your Theme
- Switch to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty-One to see if the issue persists. If the post disappears, the problem might be with your theme.
6. Check for Hardcoded Content
- Sometimes, posts or content might be hardcoded in the theme files. Check your theme’s PHP files, especially
single.php,page.php, and other template files, to ensure there is no hardcoded reference to the post.
That being said, I see your site is hosted with Cloudflare, Inc. rather than WordPress.com so I can only share some general guidelines and recommendations since we’re not able to access the site. Take into account that by migrating your site with us you can enjoy our hands-on specialized WordPress support which could further help you with situations like this one and way more.
If this might be something you would be interested in, don’t hesitate to answer the thread :)

Hi there, thanks for getting back to me.
We don’t use any plugins so there couldn’t be any conflict or caches there, I checked under the plugin tab on the dashboard, and only a marketplace came up.
I am unaware we are hosted on Cloudflare, it doesn’t come up on my records, is there another way it could have been hosted there?
I also changed the theme, and the change didn’t show up, nor did the post go down. Does it normally take time to change?
Otherwise, would appreciate any further suggestions. Thanks!

Hi again!
As we can’t access the site we can’t provide further details easily. Cloudflare might have been used as a CDN and you might have another host, however your domain points to Cloudflare currently (we can’t know where Cloudflare point if there’s anything else there)
The theme change should be immediate. From what you mention…I see that you’re applying those changes to the site you have with us (https://sajjeling.wordpress.com/) since you changed the theme there 2 days ago. However the domain is pointing currently to another site, so you would need to locate that first. A way to get more information would be also through your last bank charge. There on the bank statement, you might find more information about your current host.
Best regards!

Hi there, thanks for your answer, what do you mean the domain is pointing to another site? What other site? The bank charges are currently over 10 years old so might be difficult to find, is there any other way this post can be deleted?
Thanks again.

Hi there, CloudFlare did not recognise me as the owner of the site, as we do not have a login there. Is there any other way to take down this one post? Is there any way we can access the source code for the site? Thanks in advance.

sajjeling.wordpress.com and sajjeling.com are obviously 2 complete different sites.
You can’t edit sajjeling.com without knowing where it is hosted or without having access to the backend.
According to https://wordpress.com/site-profiler/https://sajjeling.com is registered by Namesilo and is hosted by or the real hosting is hidden by Cloudflare.
We can’t help further as that site isn’t running on the wordpress.com. It’s up to you to find out where that site is hosted and how to access the backend. If you need further help you must head over to wordpress.org
