DELETED posts show in the Reader! HELP!

  • Unknown's avatar

Please help! I’m still building my website – I made the optimization, I’m doing the customization now! And all old TEST POSTS show in the Reader! I even came to the point to delete the old account and create a new – it’s the same. Isn’t there some option to manage that? :(((

    WP.com: Unknown
    Jetpack: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

I see your site is using Cloudflare CDN. Can you please confirm whether the site is hosted with WordPress.com or whether it is using the open source WordPress.org software while hosted on another hosting provider.

This will help to identify where exactly your support request should go to – as this forum provides help to only sites hosted on WordPress.com. To get help on WordPress.org websites, you can visit the WordPress.org Support forums.

This webpage explains more on the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org.

Please delete everything, including those who are blinking, and tell me how can I customize my website preventing this happening again. I need to check how the posts look with every detail – on desktop, tablet and mobile – real ones. I think I’ll be ready in a couple of days, so would it help if I deactivate the JetPack while I’m doing my tests for example?

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m here only because of the JetPack……

  • Unknown's avatar

Does JetPack provide connecting with WordPress.org and having the same features? And eventually, if I really need to go, would you delete all of my data for real – like posts, and etc?

  • Hi,

For issues related to Jetpack, please visit the Jetpack Support.

Concerning your requests around deleting everything on your site, that would depend on the level of support you can get from this forum. Of which, I mentioned earlier. This forum provides support for websites hosted on WordPress.com only.

Please confirm if your site is hosted on WordPress.com.

    Thanks

Yes, yes, I understood. It was good to mention it somewhere that I can’t connect with JetPack through the first option – WordPress.com. It was good to know as well to be careful with every post I upload. Google updates their stuff there. And in WordPress.ORG nobody welcomes you with: ‘Are you from WordPress.COM?!’ I think it’s pretty much clear that it’s confusing for begginers to find the difference and it’s easy to get confused and come accross here. They have the same name, the same logo, the same vision, and the first association you make is .org for organization like a forum maybe, and .com for the software. Sorry if I was rude, but now I’m feeling better as I said what do I think. :)

I’ll write to the chat, and if not a email in case to use my right for data erasure. :)

Thank you for your time indeed! :)

And how I am supposed to apply my claim for full user and storage deletion? Could you please give me some valid email for these quiries? :)

  • Unknown's avatar

Yes, I want to delete them from here – WordPress.com.

I’m leaving my email: (email visible only to moderators and staff)

Please notify me when it’s all deleted.

    Thank you!

P.S. As I know WordPress.org doesn’t have Reader option, and as I understand they are two different places, so please to assist me deleting all of my data associated with expofield.com here – WordPress.com.

  • Hi @allexpo,

It looks like your www.expofield.com site isn’t hosted with WordPress.com, though was previously connected with Jetpack.

If you’re using a plugin (e.g. Sucuri Security) that blocks XML-RPC, please turn off that setting, and then disconnect/reconnect Jetpack again. Here’s how: https://jetpack.com/support/reconnecting-reinstalling-jetpack/

Please also ensure that any caching/optimization plugins (e.g. Autoptimize, WP Fastest Cache) are deactivated prior to reconnecting Jetpack. These plugins can cause issues with WordPress.com Stats, and other Jetpack features.

The next time Jetpack syncs your WordPress.org site with WordPress.com, your Reader feed should update accordingly.

If you have issues reconnecting Jetpack, please contact Jetpack Support via https://jetpack.com/contact-support/?rel=support if you have a paid plan, or https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack/ if you do not.

    I hope that helps!

    Thank you, metabreakr!

I haven’t got any problems with Jetpack, I just want to clean the mess here and not showing test posts which are deleted 2 years ago. This domain could be sold until now, and what if, let’s say, it’s not me, someone else hold the domain from now on, come here and see find some nasty scrribles he couldn’t get rid of.

Moreover, I read all the privacy’s and there is clearly noted that posts specifically are optitional. I don’t remember somebody to asked me such a thing. And moreover, again, in the privacy is written that deleted information is kept 30 days in the trash, and then start to clear up by purging. 2 years. No existing posts… And there is written that if I want to delete my information, I just need to ask, so I asked and now I’m waiting for a response.

    Thank you for your efforts!

    I appreciate it!

Otherwise, I’ve tried your method many times. It doesn’t work, so please delete everything.

I can’t believe! It continues transmitting data even though I disconnected it! No! no no! Please do something! I DO NOT want my posts here! I do not like that and I want to delete all of my data, ASAP!

  • Hi there,

I’ve cleared the Reader feed for your site, and it now only shows the 8 posts currently published on the site.

If you still see the deleted posts on your end, please clear your browser cache and reload the page.

Good, but I want you to close my account, and delete my data stored by Automattic as I do not use your services anymore, and then you do not need my data. I do not want to show the current posts, I want to show 404 for me!

  • Unknown's avatar

I am European citizen and I have a right to ask for permanent deletion of my data! I ask again and again, and you just don’t respect my privacy, that’s it! I’m not happy with that!

  • @nuk4040,

The Reader is part of WordPress.com, so no matter where a site is hosted, if it concerns the Reader, this forum is the right place for support. It’s even possible to follow sites that don’t use WordPress at all in the Reader – just so long as it has a RSS feed.

Jetpack support can of course also help in this case, but there’s no need to send someone there if they’re already posting here. So for Reader issues like this you can just tag the thread for staff in future :)

Same goes for issues with Jetpack stats, subscribers or Publicize; most other Jetpack issues the Jetpack team is better equipped, but for these features that live directly on WordPress.com we’re often able to help without the user needing to open a new support request somewhere else.

And stop transmitting my data like that! I disconnected and and deleted Jetpack! How do you have access to my website and take and spread everything you want to? Looks like a virus or?!

  • Unknown's avatar

No! Reader can’t take my information! I DO NOT give access! I say it for a hundred time! Jetpack is deleted and disconnected and you still steal my information, don’t you?

    I’m asking you for last:

Are you going to delete my account with all the data stored or not?
