Deleted site

Hi, I created shotecig.wordpress.com a few months back as a test site. I deleted it, as we weren’t ready to go live. I do not need the files, but I would love to get that address back. I get the ‘Sorry, that site has already been used!’ error, but I am the one who used it.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please read the relevant support doc at http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

It is possible to reverse a site deletion for the first 30 days after a site is closed. If you realize you closed your site in error, please contact us immediately. We will be able to assist you in restoring your site during this 30 day window. Once the 30 days have passed, all of your site data is purged and cannot be restored.

Thanks for the reply. These threads don’t quite fit my situation. It has been more than thirty days. However, the reason given on the thread for not making the urls available is that “For the most part, we cannot recycle or reassign site addresses (URLs) which may appear to be abandoned. We respect bloggers’ ownership of their content and therefore will not move or delete a site without its owners consent.” However, I was the owner of the url, from this account. I do not need the files, which were just place holders, only the url. Is this possible?

The support document here https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/ has recently been updated to make things clearer. It now says:

It is possible to reverse a site deletion for the first 30 days after a site is closed. If you realize you closed your site in error, please contact us immediately. We will be able to assist you in restoring your site during this 30 day window. Once the 30 days have passed, all of your site data is purged and cannot be restored, and the site address is deleted and cannot be reused.
