deleted site

  i couldn’t connect my site from my hosting provider, it couldn’t find it so i deleted it in wordpress to start again (i hadn’t done any work on it) and now i’ve come to realise i can’t re use the original name i had!! so how does this work with owning the domain name and now not being able to call my site the same name? (as you can tell i’m a newbie!) please help

  What is the URL of the site you deleted? If it has been fewer than 30 days since you deleted it, we may be able to recover it for you.

  Hi there, it doesn’t look like the sawyerelectrical.co.uk domain has ever been registered with WordPress.com; I understand that you chatted to us about your hosting two weeks ago.

  As long as your sawyerelectrical.co.uk domain is still registered and hosted with IONOS, you should be able to re-install the WordPress software anew there (keeping your domain name as it is) so that you can start over with building your site.

  Any account you have here at WordPress.com (which is just a free account) won’t have any bearing on your WordPress site over at IONOS.

  To clarify, there are two ways to use WordPress, you can either use the WordPress software downloaded from WordPress.org onto a web host like IONOS (also known as self-hosted), or you may host your site with us here at WordPress.com. For reference, you can learn more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org here:

  I couldn’t find any specific info from IONOS about reinstalling the WordPress software for your hosting there, but you may be able to contact them directly to get better information:

  Thank you, i can see my site is still registered at IONOS with wordpress still installed, but when i click on edit site i just get this error message?

  ‘This site can’t be reached’
  check if there is a typo in sawyerelectrical.co.uk.deleted

  I would reach out to IONOS regarding this error since the domain is hosted there. They should be able to assist you in sorting out what is causing that error.
