  I wanted to restart my site fresh, so I deleted the site. I didn’t realize that I would lose the domain name. Can I get that back?

  Hi, are you referring to a custom domain name (i.e: example.com)? If so, so long as the domain is not expired, you should still be able to use it.

  If you are referring to the URL that you get wtih a free plan (example.wordpress.com), you may find the following useful:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  This is a pretty lousy policy. I just signed up and created a site and played around with it and then deleted it with no warning that I could not use the site address again. smh
