Deleted site

    Hi there!

    I really hope someone can help! I was recently trying to change the primary domain of a wordpress.org blog so that the address was another domain I had bought, and wanted to make the original domain a secondary address that points to the same site.
    Like an idiot I went in guns blazing thinking I was taking the right steps and I seem to have deleted any trace of my blog as it was, which sucks!!

    Could anyone be so kind as to let this eager beaver know if there is a way to restore my blog to it’s previous state at all?
    I tried to change the site address in the settings, and I do have the second domain listed in my WordPress sites, but the blog has disappeared altogether it seems, so I’m not sure where to restore from, if I’m able to at all. The original domain doesn’t show at all in my sites list.

    Any help here is greatly appreciated. I realise I made a big mistake by blundering through what I thought were the steps I needed to take to affect the change I wanted. I would happily just settle for having the blog back as it was.

    Did you purchase the domain through WordPress.com or elsewhere? Also, what is the URL of the site you require help with?

    This particular help forum is specifically to help those with sites hosted here with WordPress.com. I see that you are asking a question regarding a .org site. Unless the domain you purchased was from WordPress.com, this forum will not be able to help you with a .org site that is hosted elsewhere.     If we can’t help you here, you should be able to find help either at WordPress.org support: https://wordpress.org/support/ OR with your hosting provider.

    Hi southyfreakin,

    If the blog you need help with is a WordPress.ORG blog as you indicated in your question, then this is the wrong forum to post your question. This is the WordPress.COM forum. You can find the WordPress.ORG forum here.

    For a WordPress.ORG site, you may be able to contact your host and see if they have been doing backups. Sounds like the site should still be out there somewhere!

    If you are, in fact, looking for help on a WordPress.COM site, please let us know which site and we will try to help further.
