Deleted site address taken by another member

    Hello,

    I deleted one of my WP sites time ago with address:

    artforconservationbycarmenmandel.wordpress.com

    I was the sole administrator. My site had no contributors.

    This deleted address should have been made unavailable to be taken up. However, another member took it and is posting content under my old site address and site title bearing my personal name.

    I would like to know how this could happen and how to remedy this situation, as I am uncomfortable with my name attached to someone else’s site.

    I’ve tagged this thread for Staff input, however according to this support guide on recycling blog addresses:

    Sites already deleted by their authors two or more years ago may become available again, if they present no username or other technical conflicts.

    Kindly wait for Staff to reply to this thread.

    Hi there,

    It looks like you originally deleted that URL in 2014. That URL was recycled and released and subsequently registered in May by the current owner.
