Deleted site, but mapping remain.
-
Hi,
the force is not exactly strong with me. I bought a domain at namecheap.com and decided use Worpress.com’s mapping option. And successfully, my (maustown.)wordpress site became maustown.com.Unfortunately I quickly regretted this move and went with a cancel and refund of the mapping, thinking “This’ll release my domain”. And then in a swift, idiotic move I decided to delete my wordpress blog.
Now here’s the question: All browsers I’ve tried still directs me back to WordPress or an error page saying “Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found […]”.
Should I just be patient and wait, or can any of you far smarter people help me, please?

Hi there! From my end, it looks like the name servers for maustown.com are no longer pointing to the WordPress.com name servers. So, it appears that you’ve reverted back to Namecheap and haven’t yet setup a site to point that domain as it doesn’t resolve anywhere.
From that standpoint, it appears that you’ve successfully rolled back your domain mapping. Did you want to do something else with that related to WordPress.com?

That sure is strange, but it at least it means that the problem must be with namecheap.com, even though I’ve rolled everything back.
Off to contact namcheap.
Thank you.
