Hello, could you please help also? I have deleted my site, could you please help me to get it back?

    Many thanks, Sunny

  • @trekdeczech

Can you please provide the URL of the site so I can take a look?

In most cases it is not possible to restore deleted sites. For that reason there are several warnings on the page where you delete a site. You had to confirm several times before your site was deleted. Did you read the warnings before you confirmed?

Hello, we are very confused. We set up a wordpress.com blog in 2011 under the url wovember.com; we later decided that we wanted to self-host that blog, and earlier this year, we bought a new domain name – wovember.com – and left all the old content up at wovember.wordpress.com.

For reasons that none of the four administrators who manage the website can determine, wovember.wordpress.com and five years’ worth of content have all been deleted as of today – none of us wittingly went through a site-deletion process, I have checked with all of the other site Admins and nobody, none of us, received AT ANY POINT an email asking us to confirm that we wished to delete the website. Please, please, please can you help us to restore it?

Nobody has wittingly asked for the website to be deleted, nobody.

  • @felixbadanimal

Only the owner of a site can delete it, and the site logs show that the user who owned that site, wazzuki, deleted it.

There isn’t email confirmation for a site deletion, but there are three separate confirmation steps, one of which is to type in the full URL of the site being deleted, so there is no way to do this by accident.

In some cases if we act fast enough it’s possible to stop a deletion before it’s complete, but we can only do that if the site owner request it. As you are not the owner of that site I cannot attempt a recovery at your request.

Hi there @kokkieh, there has been some huge confusion here and the site has definitely been deleted in error. I will speak to wazzuki and see if she is able to raise a request with you to recover the website. Thank you for checking the error logs.

Hi @kokkieh, I can confirm @felixbadanimal’s account: the site has been deleted in a horrible error while I was tidying up my dashboard. This was not what I intended and (if it is possible) we would really appreciate the restoration of the wovember.wordpress.com archive. Please feel free to contact myself or @felixbadanimal with further instructions or advice.
Your help will be greatly appreciated!

    Many thanks
    Kate
