deleted site name still says "name already exists"

  I would like to be using a site name that doesn’t exist but when I try to make an account using it it says “already exists”. I’d like to make an account for headtotoe.wordpress.com.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Is it possible to use a name that has been used in the past? When I visit the site it says that the account has been deleted.

  Once a site is deleted it is gone forever even from the original owner
