Deleted site query

This is mystifying to me. On a couple of occasions, I have made a post and have received a like and/or a comment from a certain blogger/site. However, when I visit the site, I see a page that states “…. *******.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site.” I can like their comment but cannot reply to it. How is it possible for a deleted site to comment or like?If you need the full site name I can provide it.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

A site can be deleted and an account can be kept. They must still have a WordPress.com account but have never changed the site associated with it.
