Deleted site still shows up in Google search
-
I found the account/content for the site I have been trying to delete. I deleted the content. How do I delete the site completely?

Thanks so much for your help! -
Set it to “Private” – Dashboard >> Settings >> Read >> Only visible to those I choose
@Raincoaster thinks setting to private causes the search engines to update and dump the old content quicker than just deleting a site
-
The other option would have been to edit the old Posts / Pages to replace the old content with a “This content has been deleted by the author” – then when a search engine visits it should update the old search results with the new message –

Thank you. So I figured out where to deleted the content and site. Wish I had seen the “Set it to private…” comment before moving ahead with deleting everything. Makes sense to me.
This is what shows up now the content and site is deleted.
“lisalewiswordpress.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site.”I requested Google remove it from the search and know that can take some time. Is there anything WP can do so it is completely deleted or do I have to wait for Google to clear it?
Appreciate the forum support on this. First time reaching out and you all have been very helpful. -
You need to wait for Google to update it’s records, keep in mind that there are many many search engines out there
