Deleted Site, to start fresh but didn't realise domain disappears too!

    Hi there, so I had a portfolio blog at http://workbychrischan.wordpress.com which I decided to delete because I’ve created a new website portfolio at a different address.

    What I didn’t realise however, was the fact I won’t be able to reregister my same domain ‘workbychrischan.wordpress.com’ to put up a place card to redirect visitors to the new website… I thought once it was deleted – I’d still hold onto the subdomain as a sort of username.

    Any suggestions for what I can do? I don’t want the website back particularly – I did delete after all – but I would quite like to get my domain back?
