Deleted website access but need to untether existing third party domain
-
I had a friend help me put together a basic website that is full of Greek to me and I have decided to use another ecommerce platform to start my online business. I tried to redirect the ‘web mapping’ (???) and I’ve made a complete mess of everything. I have successfully locked myself out somehow and cannot get back in. It probably has a lot to do with me redirecting the URL to briardewolfe.squarespace.com.
My brain is mush and I have no idea how to resolve this. Can this be fixed on the other end and deleted as well? I apologize if I’m not making any sense in my request, I do not know the first thing when it comes to web design.PLEASE HELP!

Hi there,
I have successfully locked myself out somehow and cannot get back in.
Can you give the URL of the site you are unable to log in to? Is it a WordPress.com site, or a site you host elsewhere?
Once I know which site you are trying to access, I’ll be happy to help you out.

the url I am trying to access is “briardewolfe.com”
It ia hosted by wordpress. I can only assume this because I had to type in “URL/admin” to access the customization area -
Hi,
briardewolfe.com is a self hosted WordPress.org site, not a WordPress.com site. The differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org are explained here:
As not site is not hosted on WordPress.com, there isn’t anything I can do to help you gain access to it. However, I’d recommend getting touch with your hosting company to see if they can help.
The other thing to look at is whether you are using any security plugins that block access after a certain number of failed login attempts — you can try removing that plugin via FTP.
Support for self hosted WordPress.org sites can also found on these support forums:
