Deleted wordpress site when I moved it to GoDaddy and now no support

I started with a WordPress site (blog) and wanted just a dot com so I went to GoDaddy. It all moved over well but am having 2 issues now that no one seems to be able to help with.

1- I have a Widget called Subscribe2 that is acting goofy. Users try to subscribe and some get confirmation email, some do not. I get notification of some new subscribers but not all AND the emails I get are going to 2 different accounts.

2- I deleted the inactive WordPress blog site and now a Google search only sends you to the old, dead WordPress site, unless you search my new GoDaddy with a www in front of the site name. Site name only search brings you to dead space on WordPress where my blog used to be…

I have one NEVER USED blog left which I never posted or set up on (changed name just after I signed it up) so the URL shown below is not the one I am talking about. I wanted to delete it too, but if I do I cannot even sign on to WordPress to ask these questions.
The dead URL I am speaking about is/was itsmekirby.wordpress.com
New GoDaddy site is just http://www.itsmekirby.com

Ugh. Frustrated new user/blogger…be gentle with the amount of php (whatever that is) talk.

    Thanks!
    Kirby

Hi Kirby! I hate to say this, but I’m afraid the forums here aren’t going to be a lot of help.

As far as your plugin issue goes, plugins don’t exist on WordPress.com and these forums only support WordPress.com. You’ll have to try the WordPress.org forums (and possibly see if the plugin developer has a support forum of their own). The WordPress.org forums are at https://WordPress.org/support

Now, with your deleted site, there’s nothing that can be done there, once a site is deleted it is gone forever. Neither you as the original owner, nor the staff members can recover a deleted site.

There is some good news, however. Google is showing links to your old site because it hasn’t updated its index yet. Eventually, it will figure out the old site is gone, and hopefully start offering search results for the correct site.

Google is out of the control of WordPress (or anybody from what I can tell) so when and how that shakes out might be hard to tell. It can take several weeks or longer for Google to correct issues with the index.

I’m sorry I couldn’t offer more proactive solutions for you, but hopefully this will only be a minor hiccup in your path to blogging greatness :)

Thanks so much! I feel like I’m drowning in code when all I want to do is write…lol!
I will speak to the powers that be at GoDaddy first about perhaps changing the subscribe widget to something less volatile (or at least to me!)
Thanks for the quick reply and assurance that its probably a hiccup. I agree, but only out of mild ignorance of this system…
    :-)

    Regards,
    Kirby
