deleted wordpress.com site still showing up on search engine

  I’ve deleted my wordpress.com site. My domain name is registered elsewhere. However, the wordpress.com version is still coming up first on search engines. How do I get rid of it? Would it be easier to reopen my wordpress.com site and turn on privacy?

  Hi there, when you delete a WordPressdotcom site, it means you no longer have access to its content or address.

  If your WPcom site was around a while before you bought and started using your own domain name elsewhere, start and keep posting on your new site and eventually search engine results for your WPcom address will drop away. Your new site may still be too new as it can take up to 4-6 weeks for search engines to index it.
