  I need to recover a deleted domain, I did it today.

  I mistakenly deleted the domain name “sweetmagick.com” not the blog name. I will gladly repay any fees to get it back, just how do I recover the domain?

  Hi there,

  Do you want to use that domain here on WordPress.com, or somewhere else?

  I see you had only the domain, but to have your WordPress.com site appear at that domain also requires one of our paid plans. So if you want to use the domain here, the simplest option is to go to My Site ->Plans and buy the plan you want. Then let me know and I can restore the domain for you.

  If you prefer, I can also send you a link to pay for the domain only, or if you plan on using the domain somewhere else and are willing to wait a bit, this domain should become available again by the weekend, at which point you can register it directly with the provider where you want to use it.

  Let me know which option you’d prefer.

  Hello, I appreciate the help. If I were to buy just the domain now, could I at a later time purchase a plan through WordPress? I am new to this and was starting small with just purchasing the domain name for now. If I can, could I have the link just to pay for the domain name? Its greatly appreciated!

  You can buy the plan later, yes, but then your domain won’t be included as the free domain in the plan. In other words, you’d pay $18 for the domain now, and the full cost of the plan later – you’ll still have a free domain credit included in the plan, but you’ll only be able to use that to buy a new, different domain.

  If you buy the plan now, you’ll pay just the plan cost, and the next $18 payment for the domain will only be due next year when it renews.

  Note that if you buy just the domain, it will only redirect people to your free WordPress.com address. If you add a plan, your site will actually appear at the domain itself, so visitors will see the domain in their browsers, rather than your WordPress.com address.

  It’s completely up to you – if you prefer just the domain for now there’s no problem with that :)

  Understood! I think I will stick with just the domain for now so I can explore around with WordPress. I appreciate you letting me know all of this. I have a feeling I’ll end up getting the plan at a later time, I dont mind spending the extra money again. :)

  Thanks @ajbloomfi, we’ll go ahead and send an invoice for just the domain, as you were refunded for that. As soon as you’ve paid that, can you update us here so we can get the domain restored?

  You also need to complete the email verification. You can find that in your email inbox added as a domain contact email.
