  how do i delete my entire account?

  Hi there,

  It is not possible to delete a WordPress account, however you can insert dummy information and then leave the account.

  You can read more about it on the page linked in my previous post. But to answer your question – It’s mainly because WordPress.com doesn’t want someone else to use the same username as yours. Even if you change the username, your old username becomes unavailable for new users.
