Deleting A Category

I entered a category name I don’t want anymore. I can’t delete it. There is no delete option. Some have said that you hover over the name and hit delete. It does not do anything when you hover. Others have said you check the name of the category you want to delete and then hit delete at the top. There is no delete at the top. So, how do I delete a category?

1. To edit or delete a category assigned to a post (whether it’s a draft or has already been published), go to Dashboard → Posts → All Posts in your dashboard, hover over the title and click the Edit link. To delete the post click the Trash link.
