Deleting a category

  How do i delete a category tag and subsequently deleting it from appearing in the list of categories?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Click on “My Site”, scroll down on the left to “Settings” and then “Writing” top middle. There is an arrow far right and a “toggle menu” to get to the delete button. Good old WordPress.com. Everything is “hidden in plain sight”.
