Deleting a 'default' category
-
My list of categories includes one that appears to be the default category (for lack of a better term). I cannot delete this category, and I want to because the slug is student-spotlight-2 (not cool).
I think this is the reason I can’t delete the category:
Deleting a category does not delete the posts in that category. Instead, posts that were only assigned to the deleted category are set to the category Student Spotlight.
I’ve created a new Student Spotlight category, updated all the posts to that one so the slug is better. How do I delete the other category?
Thanks in advance!

It appears that you’ve renamed a default Category, which cannot be deleted:

You can simply rename it back to its default value, if you find the current value to be unacceptable.
