    Hi
I am wanting to delete the above blog which is linked to my own personal one and although I am deleting the URL, once its deleted, when I start it up again independently I want the same URL again (Sure Ive achieved this before via wordpress)

I have gone to delete the above and was shown the message about losing it altogether, but if i then re register it independently, can i get it again since its been deleted? I havent yet deleted the blog as I am frightened i will lose it completely if I do though I am sure i have done so before..

    Thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Deleted blogs cannot be restored or reused. Deleting a blog is permanent and the name cannot be used again. There are several warnings about this on the Tools -> Delete Site page and in the help pages, and you are required to confirm the deletion by email.

If you just want to store it away, I recommend that you mark it as Private via Settings -> Privacy in your blog’s Dashboard.

You can also transfer the blog to another account

Ah so I can make another account under a different name and transfer the blog to that account? X

Yes, you can do that following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

Yeah, what happens though if I want to use the SAME URL.. Do I just use a different one for now, delete the blog and then re use that one on the new one once the old blog is deleted? X

Once you delete a URL it is gone forever even from the original user – DON’T delete the blog

So what co I do, start another under a different name and URL and when I transferred the blog, change details then? X

I took the iniative and tried the change the URL to something else so I could use the new URL on a new Independant blog. Somehow though, all I’ve achieved is to make an ADDITIONAL blog????

Ok, let’s work backwards here. What URL is the blog now, and what URL do you want it to be?

I wanted to change the URL and then make a NEW acct and then USE the URL I’d just change. The URL I want us the below one, trouble is I somehow made ANOTHER blog under the one below!

    http://michaelfrenchfans.wordpress.com/

    http://michaelfrenchdedication.wordpress.com/

So now I’m completely stuck as I daren’t delete one for fear of losing the first one that I definitely want the URL of.

Ok, so first start by making the new account (you will need to log out first), then transfer the desired blog to the new account following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

Is it possible to change the username later if required? X

I’ve tried changing the URL on the transferred blog, but I’m told Im only allowed lower case or numbers…:

Yet on the support forum it doesn’t show that and how come I’ve been allowed a URL with just lower case letters before?

You’re allowed a URL with lower case letters. You’re not allowed one with capitals or punctuation marks.

I don’t have a microscope, so I can’t read that. Maybe the URL you are trying to get is taken?

Sorry the two above posts is my sample new username.

If the link below doesn’t work what I’m seeing is this:

‘Only lowercase letters and numbers allowed.’

And all I’m trying is below.
