deleting a page/tab

  I created a page which shows as tab on the main page. The page is still there but the tab on the main page is not showing. Therefore I tried to remove the tab by deleting the page on the page menu. The page is deleted but the tab on the main page is still showing. Can anyone tell me how to remove the tab on the main page.

  The regular header menu displays all your published parent pages and nothing else. A custom header menu displays whatever you’ve told it to display. Since you deleted the page but its tab is still there, then you’ve got a custom menu on. If that was deliberate, go to Appearance>Menus, remove the page from the menu, save menu. If it wasn’t deliberate, go to Appearance>Menus, select the blank option from the Theme Locations module (so that the theme will revert to the regular menu), save.

  That is, the blank option from the pulldown in the Theme Locations module.
