Deleting a pdf file

  Hello,

  My problem is related to the suppression of a pdf file.
  Indeed, even if the file has been deleted from the media library, and can not be found by search engines anymore, alink is still active : https://caffeet.files.wordpress.com/2014/12/t-watteyne-141119_caffeet_watteyne_private.pdf.
  Could you please remove it definitively?
  And explain how I should proceed in the future when deleting files?

  It is indeed deleted forever. I see 404 — File not found error if I click on that pdf link. So it is gone. However it might be still cached in your browser which is why it shows up for you. You can try clearing the cache or try in a different browser and your will notice that it is deleted.

  I don’t. I see a 17 page PDF. I flagged this for staff attention; sounds like it’s deleted from some servers but not all.

  Hi Stephanie,

  It can take some time for deleted files to be permanently removed from all of the WordPress.com servers. During that time, the file may be accessible by some people but not others, but once it finishes being permanently removed it will not be accessible by anyone. (They will see a 404 message when they try to view the file.)
