Deleting a photo from my home page in WordPress
-
Hi, I am using WordPress classic on a personal plan. I accidentally uploaded two identical photos to my home page. I want to delete one of the photos. This should be easy, but nothing I have tried works. The cursor works on text, not on the photo; when I click on the photo, there is no tool bar, no drop down menu for delete. It has been a while since I used WordPress, but I don’t recall ever having this problem. Many thanks for your help.

Hi there,
That sounds frustrating. Could you share a screenshot of what you see when trying to delete the photo? Here is a guide on how to take screenshots: https://wordpress.com/support/make-a-screenshot/
I see that the theme you are using is retired. A retired theme will no longer receive updates with new features. While a retired theme should continue functioning on your site, we cannot guarantee it will always work well with the ever-evolving WordPress software.
Since this could be an issue with the theme being retired, I have deleted the duplicate image for you using the classic editor. In the meantime, you can do the same by adding &classic-editor at the end of your editor page like this: https://threevillagesmedia.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=341&action=edit&classic-editor
You may continue to use it as usual. However, you may consider switching from a classic to a block theme to ensure your site has a modern look and feel to its design. You can learn more about this here: https://wordpress.com/support/migrate-from-a-classic-theme-to-a-block-theme/
Since you’re on a paid plan, you also have access to direct support. You can reach out to us through the Help Center so we can help you with switching to a block theme: https://wordpress.com/support/help-support-options/?#how-to-contact-us
Let me know if that helps or if you have any other question.
