Deleting a secondary site

    Hello
I recently canceled and deleted my WordPress.ORG (which was on Bluehost hosting) and came back to WordPress.COM.

Even when I had both .COM and .ORG, I would get a strange double site on my backend, and in my Dashboard, it allowed me to switch back and forth between them. (But it was more confusing than anything else and I never used it.)

However, since I canceled my .ORG with Bluehost, it’s still showing up and offering to switch.

How do I delete this other site without harming my .COM site?

I do want to say that when I go into my backend it says there are two sites, but what only shows up is the aforgeofphoenix.wordpress.com site.

I have moved my domain name of aforgeofphoenix.com to wordpress.

    Thank you!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, can you explain where you’re finding the two sites? Is it under My Sites, or under your Domains tab?

    Hi!
Right now I am seeing it under the My Sites. It’s the backend that is the gray blue. And it’s weird, because generally I’m also having problems switching back to the backend dashboard that is black.

    Hmmm…
I’m guessing these are two separate accounts, yet when I log out of both, and sign in with just my .COM account I can still access both accounts.

While in the account I want to get rid of, when I go into Settings it keeps giving me a popup warning that there is an error in retrieving my site settings, and that I need to make sure my Jetpack is up to date.

.COM does not support Jetpack, so that clues me into that this account is from the .ORG. ?

All support docs are at https://support.wordpress.com/
Type in disconnect jetpack sites and click to search

    Does this help?

We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. We do not provide support for
    (1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
    (2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM.
    (3) Jetpack support https://jetpack.me/support/ for sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page.

Some Jetpack solutions are here http://jetpack.me/support/

Others are in the Jetpack support forum at WordPress.org
    http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack

However, if help cannot be found at either one then they can file a Jetpack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service

Hi! Thanks for the heads up! Timethief, you’re awesome!

Yes, I realize that this is not the place to for support on .ORG, but the problem was the .ORG stuff I was trying to get rid of was showing up on my .COM dashboard when I was signed into my .COM account. And that’s what confused me.

And you figured out that Jetpack was the problem! Awesome!

Once I disconnected Jetpack like you said, the double site/switching site option on the .COM dashboards disappeared. I fiddled around with it for a minute or two, trying to get the double site to return, but it has not.

I assumed once I canceled the .ORG hosting, everything would disappear. It didn’t. So, a lesson is to disable/delete all plugins before you ditch a site.

hahaha… one problem down, two to go. :D Happy Friday.
