A few years back I wanted to help create a website for my fathers company, (http://islanderimports.wordpress.com/). I was in school when I created it and did not know much about how the website worked and was unaware that it was able to be viewed publicly.

Today I am trying to do the same task, however I cannot find a way to recover the login information for the old website…as you can see, its not the most appropriate website for a business, (again, I didn’t know it was going to be view publicly, a lot of things on the page were left as notes to myself.) I’ve being to start the new webpage (http://islanderimportsus.wordpress.com), but I want to take down the old webpage, (http://islanderimports.wordpress.com) so customers are not confused/discouraged to buy our products.

Please let me know what I can do to prove my identity as the original webpage owner and what steps I can follow to take down the old page.

    Thank you in advance

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,
You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account and the exact same associated email address that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard.
    http://henkering4it.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

Clicking this link should display all your blogs registered under the same username, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden

If you do not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then
    follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibility

If you have lost your log-in information you can visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

If required please complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums which are available to everyone with internet access.

Once you have recovered the site you will be able to delete it. To delete a WordPress.COM blog you must be logged in under the exact same username account that registered the blog. To prevent accidental or inadvertent deletion of blogs, there are multiple warnings given that blog deletion is permanent and irreversible. Lastly, a verification link is sent in an email and must be clicked to delete a blog. If clicking that link does not work then copy and paste it into your upper browser window and click.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.

Alternatively, to change blog visibility to private go to > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3 . See the guide here http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

    You’re welcome and best wishes.
P.S. Be patient while waiting because account recovery Staff have a backlog.
