Hi,
I was looking to delete this WordPress account as it is a duplicate of one that already existing. It is causing me trouble as it meaning I am unable to link up this, my only email with my personal WordPress account.

You can’t delete your WordPress account, technically. But you can make it inactive by deleting all of your data and even unsubscribing from WordPress emails from this account. Here’s how to go about deleting your WordPress account:

Every WordPress.com user account has a unique email address – which means, you will not be able to create two user accounts with the same email id.
However, there is a workaround to this, which is mentioned in the Deleting Accounts Support Article that I had shared earlier:
Log into your current account (the one with the email you want to use).
Under Users → Personal Settings, change the email address on the account. You can use any active email that you have access to. This will free up the primary email for the new account.
You’ll receive an email to confirm the change. Click on the confirmation link, and log out of the account from My Account → Log Out.
Sign up for a new account with the primary email address.
If you already registered the new account, repeat step 2 while logged in to the new account to change the email address on that account too.Note: It may take some time for our system to completely release your e-mail address for use with another account.
