Deleting account

  Dear wordpress-team,
  first I would like to say I really like your app and the blogs hosted by you.
  But I would love you to delete my account matchesandcandles under the mail (email visible only to moderators and staff)
  I am not interested in writing blogs anymore and I see no use in being here. Also I don’t want to just unsubscribe all the stuff – really I want to be deleted.

  Hello,

  Accounts can only be deactivated.

  This is stop others from signing up using the same user account and impersonating the user. Also, since many other websites or services created by Automattic (the company that runs wordpress.com) uses wordpress.com account. Hence, users are allowed to deactivate their accounts, but not delete.
