Deleting account – not getting confirmation email
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Accounts cannot be deleted. This prevents someone else from impersonating you in the future. http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/
If you are not getting the confirmation email to delete your site, please first make sure you are checking the account listed as the site’s Admin email and check in that email account’s Spam folder. http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/#troubleshooting

yes, I am trying to delete the site not the account. I am not getting the confirmation email. I did confirm that it is correct. I have tried it several times with no luck

Also, please note that once a site is deleted, it can never be recovered and the address will no longer be available, not to you or anyone else.
If you think you may want to use the site in the future, you can change the site’s privacy settings to Private in order to keep it out of search engine returns. http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
