Deleting account

  My account was supposed to have been deleted back in April. It looks like the account is still active even though all the content has been deleted and I am not able to delete the account entirely. Again, this should have been done in April. How do I completely delete my site? The option to delete the site is not available.

  Hi @becomingthegreaterme!
  To be able to delete your site from your Dashboard navigate to
  MySites > Settings > General
  In the General tab, right at the bottom you will find the option to
  “Delete your site permanently”

  It is not possible to delete your account permanently on WordPress.com, find the details here:

  Hi there,

  Accounts cannot be deleted, only sites can, but I see no evidence that anyone tried to delete your site in April. As you had paid upgrades on your site it wouldn’t have been possible to delete it without cancelling those upgrades first. Had you cancelled your upgrades, you would have received a confirmation via email that you had done so.

  I see a renewal payment recently went through on your site. We sent you several emails that the renewal was on the way. I suggest you check your Spam folder if you didn’t receive those.

  If the renewal was in error you could have contacted us via live chat for a full refund, but instead you appear to have contested the charge with your bank. When you do that you accuse us of fraud, the funds are frozen until the bank completes their investigation, and your site is locked.

  If you let the dispute stand, you will only receive a refund when your bank completes their investigation, which can take eight to twelve weeks. And you will only be able to delete your site once you pay the chargeback fee that has been applied to your account to unlock the site.

  On the other hand, if you cancel the dispute we might be able to refund you immediately and unlock your site. Please let me know if you decide to withdraw the dispute.
