Deleting an accoutn
-
Hello. Last year my company moved their blog from WordPress to our own website. At the same time we deleted everything from the URL we used in WordPress. But today I found out that all the old posts still is in WordPress on an another URL, so I tried to delete that page as well. Then I got the message ‘You have active premium upgrades on your site. Please cancel your upgrades prior to deleting your site’.
I have administrator-privilegies, but when I tried to cancel any upgrades I got the message ‘This product was purchased by a different WordPress.com account. To manage this product, log in to that account or contact the account owner’.
Our WordPress.com Premium package seems to have expired a few days ago, but on my profile it is impossible to see any payment history, and I still I don`t have the opportunity to delete the web-site. How should I proceed?

Hi!
So there are a couple issues at play here. The user account you are posting from is not the owner of the paid upgrade nor the owner of the site itself (though, as you note, it is an admin).
Because of this we cannot delete any upgrades from the site for you. So you have a couple options.
1. Log into the account that purchased the upgrade and cancel it from there (or request our help in doing so).
2. Wait 30 days for the expired upgrade to be completely removed from the account. Once that happens, you should be able to delete the site with your administrator privileges.
Let us know if anything is unclear or you have any further questions.

Hi.
Thank you for the quick response. Is it possible to find out which account who bought the upgrades? I suspect that person has quit our organization, so it will be pretty difficult to log into that account.

It might be best if you got in touch with our Account Recovery team via
passwordhelp@wordpress.com, they may be able to give you more information. Thanks!
