Deleting an inactive wordpress blog

  Hi. I started a WordPress blog years ago and now it is inactive. When I search on it, it still comes up and has the profile information of my new blog. How do I delete the inactive blog without deleting the new one I just created?

  Hey there,

  To delete your site,

  1. Visit your site’s settings page by clicking on My Site (s) → Manage → Settings.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page, and select Delete your site permanently.

  3. You are given the option of exporting the content on your blog which you can do by clicking the Export Content button.

  4. Once you have exported your content, scroll down to find the Delete Site button.

  5. Be sure to confirm that the correct site address is listed in the yellow alert bar.

  6. Confirm the deletion. Enter the address of the site (shown in red) into the provided field, then click the Delete this Site button.

  Good Morning.

  It did not work.

  I have an inactive WordPress blog with one name that shows up when I do a search on an internet search engine, but it does not show up as one of the blogs to be deleted. I need assistance on how to get rid of it completely so that I just have the new blog with the new name that I created. When I follow any deletion procedures it just shows the brand new blog. When I look at my profile information for the old blog from years ago, it shows the profile information of my brand new blog. Help!

  Your account eternalspringwinter is only 1 day old so it can’t be conencted to an older site. As only the owner is able to delete his site, you must log in to the account that owns that site. If you no longer have access to that account, you can restore access at https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/

  Maybe this will help.

  I have an old WordPress blog called GuruGirl444 which shows up on a yahoo search. My new blog is disastermastery on WordPress. I want to keep the new blog and delete the older one. I am trying to delete GuruGirl444 so it is not searchable and no longer exists. How do I do that??

  That site excists at https://gurugirl444.wordpress.com/ and is connected to the account gurugirl444.
  If you don’t remember the login for that site, go to https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/
